Focus Group Feedback
After we had shown our focus group two trailers, we asked them a number of questions based on what our trailer should end up like. They stated that they like horror trailers to make them feel "... on edge" and include "... Things that make you jump." Therefore, we will try and make our trailer quite jumpy and create a sense of enigma. In order to enhance this jumpy and edgy feel of our trailer, we will put a lot of effort into choosing appropriate non-diegetic music that puts our audience on the edge of their seat. In addition, we will not show what possesses our character because "... it leaves a sense of mystery." Our focus group also suggested that they like watching horror films, which are based on a true story, as they "... make you want to watch it so you can find out what really happened." As a result of this, we believe that our trailer should be based on a true story. Furthermore, our focus group pointed out that they would prefer our trailer to be filmed with a handheld camera, as it "... makes you feel like it's actually happening." Therefore we will take a series of test shots to see how a handheld camera effect will work.
